Ernst Conrad Rudolf Freiherr von Freyberg-Eisenberg-Allmendingen (born 26 October 1958 in Geneva) is a German manager and current head of the Vatican Bank.
Von Freyberg is the eldest of three sons of Ulrich von Freyberg-Eisenberg-Allmendingen and Brita Gertrud Blohm. He is married and a member of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.
He studied law at the universities of Munich and Bonn from 1978 to 1985 and at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer in 1986/87. He was law clerk at the Landgericht of Ulm and completed the juristic state exam in 1988.
From 1988 to 1991, he worked for TCR Europe Limited and Three Cities Research, Inc. In 1991 he founded the German branch of the consulting agency Daiwa Corporate Advisory Limited (part of the Japanese Daiwa Securities Group) and served as its CEO until 2012.
Since 2012, he has been chairman of the supervisory board of Blohm + Voss, and is member of other supervisory boards, e.g. of Malteser Deutschland gGmbH, Flossbach von Storch AG, Manpower GmbH und Magirus AG. He was appointed president of the Supervisory Board of the Institute for Works of Religion ("Vatican Bank") by the Commission of Cardinals responsible for the bank on 15 February 2013.
