The Stateline Fire burning in Union County, north of Clayton, New Mexico, is currently estimated at 21,253 acres, of which 7,160 acres has crossed over into Colorado. Fort Carson has started its recovery process after a Sunday grass fire consumed about 270 acres, says a Monday news release. The fire was still smoldering Monday near Gate 5, east of Colorado 115. No injuries were reported and no structures affected, said Fort Carson spokeswoman Brandy Gill.
