In his role as chief apologist for Mugabe's ruination of his country, Mudenge followed in a long and ignoble tradition. If he was not in the Molotov or Ribbentrop league of dictator's lackey, he had a claim to be Zimbabwe's version of Tariq Aziz, the smooth and unctuous voice of Saddam Hussein's regime.
