A candle left unattended reportedly caused a Gastonia home to go up in flames. Firefighters arrived to the scene just before 4:45 a.m. Sunday of a house fire on the 200 block of South Trenton Street. Heavy fire showed throughout the home, and it took 20 firefighters 15 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
