Family: Divorced and remarried to
Marta Sahagun with four adopted children.
Private sector career: Rancher and businessman. Began working for Coca-Cola in 1964 as delivery supervisor and rose to become president of Coca-Cola for Mexico and the Latin American region.
Political career: Elected to Congress in 1988 as a member of the National Action Party (PAN). Elected governor of the state of Guanajuato in 1995. Elected president in 2000. His term is up in 2006, and he is not eligible for reelection. There has been talk that his wife might seek the presidency then.
